Description
This publisher was founded by Armando Armando in Rome in 1949. Armando Armando had an academic background in pedagogy, and the aim of his company was to publish quality books targeting teachers of all subjects at all education levels.
Armando Editore published the works of several Italian academics, and it also introduced in Italy the books by international intellectuals such as Jerome Bruner, Abraham Maslow, Marshall McLuhan, Karl Popper, and Ludwig Wittgenstein.
In the 80s, Armando Editore's catalogue included a series of school textbooks to teach foreign languages to primary school learners, directed by Renzo Titone, who at the time was in charge of the national project Insegnamento delle Lingue Straniere nella Scuola Elementare (ILSEE).
