Short description
This is the new edition of Learning to communicate, published by the same authors in 1977.
The overall organisation of the book is the same as the older edition, that is, 45 units on the same topics, with grammar notes (“Riflessione grammaticale”), exercises, and a section on Language behaviour, introducing functional elements. However, the contents have been enriched with more language games and communication tasks; additionally, the book offers different “Teaching paths” (“itinerari didattici”) to practise speaking and writing skills, divided into the following areas:
- précis making
- dialogue writing
- open dialogue
- questions on reading passages
- letter writing
- narration
- describing people, places, objects.
Although the updated edition of the book maintains the sections for reflection on language (Riflessione grammaticale) which were implemented in the 1977 edition, these appear to be more concise and less detailed.
