Short description
This spelling book is a collection of English words for practicing pronunciation, organised according to Daniel Jones’ English Pronouncing Dictionary.
As reported in the foreword (“Al lettore”), it is designed for regular practice in the classroom, where it should be used for a few minutes in every lesson, as supplementary material to a grammar book.
The spelling book comprises nine sections which includes the selected words according to different criteria, such as: words with the same stressed vowel sound, words that differ in pronunciation and meaning but are similar in their spelling, homophones, words with silent consonants, etc.
