Short description
The course book, based on the original British edition published by the BBC, comprises 52 lessons, and it is followed by by Getting on in English.
At the beginning of the lessons, new vocabulary is presented, then the explanation of new grammar structures is provided in Italian. Hence, a deductive approach is applied to the teaching of new linguistic structures. The exercises are based on substitution tables and other practice techniques such as transformation from singular to plural, repetition of sentences (recommended after listening to the recordings on the vinyl discs), answering open questions, translation, and reverse translation. Beginning with Lesson 5, the section “La conversazione” includes a dialogue (recorded on vinyl discs) which presents a situation where the structures in the lesson are used.
