Maurizio Gotti is Professor Emeritus of English Language and Translation at the University of Bergamo. Before beginning his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Bergamo in 1985, Gotti taught English in lower and upper secondary schools. In the 80s he was awarded scholarships to attend training courses in English language teaching methodolgy at the Ealing College in London and at the University of California in Los Angeles. In 1999 he was awarded the Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology Award by the University of Jacksonville (Florida).
Gotti directed the Scuola di Specializzazione per l'Insegnamento Secondario (SSIS) for the Brescia and Bergamo area in 1999 and between July 2008 and July 2009.
